1. An unmarried female Indian citizen, born between 02 January 85 and 01 January 89 (Upper age relaxable upto 02 Jan 83 for those having Commercial Pilot License).
2. BE (Four year course). Final year students may also apply, provided they would qualify for a degree by 15 Dec 2007. Engineering Candidates with better academic performance would be given preference.
3. Atleast 162.5 cms in height and have a leg length in the range 99 cms (min) and 120 cms (max).
You Must not be:
1. Colour blind or suffer from night blindness or be a habitual wearer of spectacles (or other forms of corrective lenses).
2. A candidate who has failed the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) in an earlier attempt.
3. A Flight Cadet suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy.
Selection Procedure
1. Scrutiny of the Applications.
2. Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) on the first day at one of the Air Force Selection Boards at Dehradun, Mysore or Varanasi
3. Personality Tests for the qualifiers of PABT., Candidates who fail to qualify in PABT will be routed back on the same day.
4. Stage I test consisting of intelligence test, Picture Perception and Discussion test. Those who fail to qualify in Stage I test will be routed back.
5. Stage II test consisting of Psychological testing, Group testing and interview in the subsequent days.
6. Medical Examination at AFCME, New Delhi or IAM Bangalore for those who qualify AFSB testing.
7. Finalisation of Merit List based on the aptitude and demonstrated performance during the AFSB test.
8. Issue of Joining Instructions to selected Candidates as per the order of merit and vacancy available.

Terms and Conditions.
Short Service Commission (SSC):- Training for 74 weeks at Air Force Academy, Hyderabad . During the training period, you would be oriented with defence lifestyle and imparted rigorous training to enhance your physical and mental toughness before commencing flying training. On completion you would be granted Short Service Commission. The initial engagement period would be for 10 years from the date of commissioning. An extension of 4 years may be granted to those fulfilling stipulated performance criteria, subject to service requirement and availability of vacancies.
IAF offers:
During the training Rs. 8,000/- per month as stipend. On successful completion of training, rank of Flying Officer in the pay scale of Rs. 8,250-300-10,050/- per month.
