Teen Drug Addictions
« Posted: November 03, 2007, 03:15:44 PM »

These days teen are becoming more and more prone to drugs and what is more astonishing is that the denial factors of both parents and the school systems. A trouble with dependence is willingly accepted in the inner cities as a byproduct of demanding living conditions. If you ever happen to go to the suburbs and it's awkward to get the parents and schools systems to confess there is a trouble at all and so everyone shrugs this responsibility. Normally in the high school there is a Student Assistance Counselor and they perform arbitrary drug testing for all students. Prior to that drug testing was reserved only for those participating in sports. If a child tests positive for drugs or alcohol the child faces compulsory suspension.

Once joining the school the child meets 2-3 times with the Student Assistance Counselor and then begins again life as though not anything has happened. I have myself witnessed parents taking the school to task for having requested their child be tested at all. Well meaning teachers frequently look the other way when presented with signs of a child being under the influence. This especially occurs if the teenager in question is not a problem in the classroom.

The Student Assistance: Counselor admits that the parents are in denial about the drug problem as well. Each start of the High School year they administrate a program about drug and alcohol consciousness for the parents. In a school populace of over 1100 students only a few of parents have attended that. This is notwithstanding the fact that there have been quite a lot of heroin overindulge ensuing in the bereavement of students in the area.

Though parents buy the beer for they're under age children to drink with the proviso that everyone having a drink must stay over that evening and not drive. Perchance they draw deceptive soothe from the information that they are scheming the state of affairs. If the kids feel free to drink at home, they won't feel it obligatory to drink outside the home.

So teenagers actually get confused wit the fact that they are permitted to drink at home but not allowed outside t o try drugs and it is actually correlated with breaking of the law in other situations, such as experimenting with drugs. Parents must be more dutiful to tell the fact to their children that they are teenagers, they do not always behave as their parents might hope. Teens are great for seeing issues as black or white.

To cut the long story short teen drug addiction is a major concern that need to be solved at all levels like government taking some steps, parents guiding their children and schools conducting awareness programs.
