TEOCO integrates DIMENSION network capacity tool into ASSET planning suite

FAIRFAX, VA., USA – 26 MAY 2016
– TEOCO, the leading provider of engineering, assurance and analytics solutions to communications service providers (CSPs) worldwide, today announced the launch of ASSET Capacity, its newly rebranded network capacity planning tool.

ASSET Capacity allows operators to plan their entire network capacity across each element, from radio access to backhaul and transport core. It provides network visualisation, capacity management and scenario forecasting. Previously called DIMENSION, the new name for ASSET Capacity reflects the tool’s full integration into TEOCO’s ASSET planning suite. In addition to improvements to the software, its integration with ASSET now serves the entire network planning process.

New to ASSET Capacity in this version is an optional module which provides full automatic data loading from the live network. Operators can automatically incorporate all of their live network’s multi-vendor and multi-technology topology – sites, network elements, physical links, routing paths and more – into ASSET Capacity’s planning modules. No manual processing is required, and the process can be scheduled so data is always up to date.

Operators can also plan capacity against specific KPIs. The selected KPI can be loaded from the Performance Management system and visualized for each cell and site in ASSET Capacity, to ensure that planning and metrics are aligned.

The new version also includes improved modelling of IP/MPLS services. This part of the network can now be visualized, making identifying potential bottlenecks and issues with future traffic growth simpler. Other improvements include better modelling of hybrid links, and fast traffic scaling to better evaluate forecasts.

Network planners using ASSET Capacity can design a more efficient network by identifying bottlenecks before they happen, and then test scenarios to determine how the network will cope. ASSET Capacity can accurately model tens of thousands of network elements, across many different technologies and equipment from multiple vendors. It is a centralised system that can be accessed simultaneously by numerous network planners.

“Our renaming of ASSET Capacity is about more than making our branding consistent,” said Atul Jain, CEO, TEOCO. “By adding ASSET Capacity into our wider suite of network planning tools, we’re providing operators with a comprehensive solutions portfolio for planning their networks based on actual subscriber usage and traffic patterns.”
