Skyscape launches its eighth wave of price cuts in three years, as public sector comes under renewed budgetary pressure in Spending Review

London – November 25, 2015 – Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave assured cloud services company today announced a number of significant price reductions across its service catalogue, as Government departments face increased pressure to deliver public services for less in the wake of Chancellor George Osborne’s Spending Review.

In his address to Parliament, the Chancellor announced a wave of cuts to Whitehall Departments’ budgets. The Department of Health will see its budget shrink by 25 percent, while the Cabinet Office will see its budget fall by 26 percent. Digital transformation will underpin these savings, and the Chancellor also announced that an additional £450m will be allocated to the Government Digital Service (GDS) in order to deliver Government as a Platform, Verify and Common Technology Services.

Skyscape has always offered a pay-by-the-hour usage model across its catalogue of assured cloud services and is now reducing the prices of its Compute-as-a-Service offerings for the eighth time in three years. Prices for its Compute-as-a-Service will fall by as much as 50 percent and Skyscape’s Hadoop in the Cloud will see a 90 percent price reduction via G-Cloud 7 compared to the previous iteration. Skyscape has also committed to freezing Microsoft licensing charges despite price increases from Microsoft of 26 percent, reducing entry pricing for N3 connectivity options by up to 50 percent and removing set-up fees for its Cross Domain Security Zone service. In addition to significant cost reductions, Skyscape’s public sector customers will also benefit from various service enhancements on the new iteration.
