London, 10th July 2014 – Pogopost announced today its selection by the Victoria & Albert Museum as a technology partner to enable fans of the museum's iconic images to send them as postcards to friends and family straight from their phones, thanks to an in-app payment solution provided by Ingenico Payment Services.

The Pogopost app permits iPhone users to share images from the V&A's image catalogue as digital postcards starting at just £1.50 for destinations within the UK. The service is offered worldwide with additional charges for overseas postage.

Pogopost has teamed up with Payment Services Provider, Ingenico Payment Services, to enable senders to pay for their postcards electronically using payment cards including Mastercard, American Express, Visa and Visa Debit. Their in-app solution provides users with a convenient, rapid and totally secure mobile payment method. Pogopost also plans to use Ingenico Payment Service's platform to allow payment information to be securely held for instant purchase, making the app even more user-friendly. Moving forward, Pogopost will also allow customers to pay with an increasing number of local payment methods to make it even easier for international visitors at the V&A to pay for their messages home.

Visitors to the V&A can use the Pogopost app to quickly find their favourite images and even uses geo-location to allow searching of images from the exact room visitors are in. Alternatively visitors can snap themselves in situ and share that image on the postcard. The app will also enable art and design lovers around the world to share their favourite images and photos from the V&A's archive spanning thousands of images of the world's most iconic examples of art and design.

Pogopost CEO Ben Thornton said "Wishing you were here at the V&A has never been simpler. Enjoying the museum is enhanced greatly by being able to share your experiences and the age old tradition of sending postcards has taken a mobile leap into the 21st century with the quick and easy payment process, courtesy of Ingenico Payment Services. Now visitors can send personalized postcards of favourite collection items - be it a Ming vase, a Rodin sculpture or an iconic photograph of British fashion or a celebrity like David Bowie."

Julian Wallis, Head of Sales UK & Ireland at Ingenico Payment Services said "Our in-app capability provides Pogopost with a seamless mobile payment solution, a straightforward transaction process in which visitors can easily navigate around in a matter of seconds. We look forward to a growing partnership with Pogopost, with scope for a growing range of heritage site customers with varied international payment needs."

Due to the universal appeal of sending postcards from places people visit, there is great scope for expanding into other parts of the tourist industry, offering exciting prospects for both Pogopost and Ingenico Payment Services.

Paul Wicks, who was the digital project manager for the project said "Ingenico Payment Services is an ideal partner not just because it gives us a highly secure way to take mobile payments, but also provides an easy international expansion plan to add regional payment methods in the future. Their in-app payment capability is now a fundamental part of this offering for other museums and tourist attractions like the National Trust and National Railway Museum."
