Ontology and Neotel Triumph at Global Telecoms Business 2012 Innovation Awards

Semantic search provider and South Africa's first converged telecommunications network operator win award for Enterprise Service Management project.

London, UK - June 14, 2012: Ontology Systems, the semantic-search technology provider for Enterprise Data Alignment, today announced, along with customer, Neotel, Ontology has won the 2012 GTB Innovation Awards for ’Data Services Innovation’.

The Ontology-Neotel award entry detailed a recent project where Ontology Intelligent 360 delivered a joined-up view of Neotel’s enterprise services, drawing together a configuration spread across multiple underlying OSS/BSS systems. Presenting all of an enterprise customer's information in a single place meant Neotel improved their customer experience, plus the linking of OSS/BSS systems revealed costly billing and provisioning errors and let Neotel free up stranded assets.

On winning the award, which was presented to both Phinda Ncala, Neotel’s CIO, and Leo Zancani, Ontology’s CTO, Zancani remarked: “Ontology’s semantic-search approach to align OSS/BSS data is unique in the Telco industry and we are delighted that the Neotel innovation for the Enterprise Service Management project has been fully recognised by the judging panel of Global Telecoms Business.”

The GTB Innovation Awards, designed to honour projects involving telecoms operators and service providers around the world, in association with their vendors and suppliers, took place on Tuesday night at the Sheraton Park Lane hotel in London.
