London, UK, 20th February 2015 – Mint Payments Limited (ASX: MNW) and Miura Systems (“Miura”) today announced a strategic distribution partnership that will deliver advanced, mobile point of sale (mPOS) solutions to Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.

Miura is the world leader in mPOS payment hardware technology, with approximately 75% of the world’s leading mPOS providers utilising own-branded devices from Miura. Miura’s hardware and software solution is of revolutionary design coupled with multiple connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB. This means that transactions can be conducted in a multitude of environments: at the counter, in the aisle, or in any mobile environment.

Working in close collaboration with the Mint Payments multi-payment platform architecture, the Mint/Miura solution provides businesses with a wide range of payment acceptance methods, including magnetic stripe (MSR), chip and pin (EMV), contactless (NFC), and local debit card transactions (EFTPOS) in Australia and New Zealand. This solution will enable merchants to deliver value-added services, targeted marketing and advertising content from anywhere inside or outside the store.

With growing demand for and interest in mPOS among small and medium-sized businesses, retailers and large enterprise, Mint’s multi-payment platform coupled with Miura’s hardware provides a comprehensive payment solution. This partnership will look to provide the same level of comprehensive payment acceptance methods to the Asia pacific region.

Alex Teoh, CEO, Mint Payments Limited said, “Mint is focused on delivering a complete omni-channel solution and mobile point of sale is an important aspect of this. By partnering with Miura, a world leader of innovative secure electronic payment hardware, we will be able to provide businesses with a secure and easy-to-integrate solution that leverages our enterprise-ready payment experience.”

Ian Rutland, CEO, Miura Systems commented, “We are delighted to broaden and deepen our relationship with our strategic partner, Mint Payments. Miura and Mint have similar business philosophies that focus on delivering highly innovative solutions into the rapidly growing payments arena. By aligning our efforts we look forward to driving significant growth for both companies across the Asia Pacific region and enabling the wider acceptance of card payments through Mint’s market leading mPOS payments solution in the Asia-Pacific region, bringing significant benefits for merchants and consumers alike.”
