IMAGIS chooses Cortus APS1 Processor for Touchscreen Solutions
« Posted: July 22, 2014, 03:24:52 PM »

Montpellier, France and Suwon-City, Korea, 22nd July 2014. – Cortus, a technology leader in low power, silicon efficient, 32-bit processor IP, and IMAGIS, a specialised touch and haptic solution product provider, announce that they are working together to offer touchscreen designs based on Cortus’ APS1 processor core.

Cortus S.A.S. licenses a range of low power 32-bit processor cores for intelligent connected devices. The cores provide licensees with a scalable choice in embedded computational performance and silicon area to meet a wide variety of application needs.

“The Cortus APS1 is very competitive in performance and power consumption” says Jinkug Lee, Chief Technology Officer of IMAGIS, “In addition, the core is cost effective because of its small size.” He adds, “We have been pleased to work locally with the support of the Cortus Korea office”.

“We are convinced that APS1 is ideal for many touchscreen controller applications”, says Michael Chapman, CEO and President of Cortus, “We have therefore been very pleased that IMAGIS has selected Cortus’ APS1”.

The Cortus family of APS processors starts with the world’s smallest 32-bit core, the APS1, and goes up to the floating point FPS6. All cores interface to Cortus’ peripherals including Ethernet 10/100 MAC, USB 2.0 Device and USB 2.0 OTG via the efficient APS bus. They also share the simple vectored interrupt structure which ensures rapid, real time interrupt response, with low software overhead.

The APS toolchain and IDE (for C and C++) is available to licensees free of charge, and which can be customised and branded for final customer use. Ports of various RTOSs are available such as FreeRTOS, Micrium uC/OSII.

To date, well over 500 million devices have been manufactured containing Cortus processor cores.

About Cortus S.A.S.:
Cortus S.A.S. is a technology enabler for rapidly growing applications including Internet of Things (IoT), wearable electronic devices, smart sensors and security. It has specialised in 32-bit processor cores which can significantly reduce manufacturing costs while achieving computational performance and power constraints.
