Stand No D50
Woking, Surrey: 18th April, 2012 - “This year, threats have multiplied,” says Ian Kilpatrick, chairman of security VAD Wick Hill Group, “and IT managers going to Infosecurity Europe want to know how they can manage this multiplicity of threats while fulfilling their legal and compliance commitments. They don’t want to employ any more staff and most of them have a static budget. This scenario gives the channel more opportunities and we’ll be showing a range of solutions resellers can offer customers to meet these needs.”

Kilpatrick thinks some of the issues concerning visitors will be security around the consumerisation of equipment, such as laptops and smartphones, ever-increasing remote access, data loss, virtualisation, convergence and the growing use of mobile devices.

Back on the bus
Making a welcome return trip to the Wick Hill stand this year is the vintage, ex-London Transport triple decker bus being used for customer and press meetings.

“The bus proved such a hit a couple of years ago, it is back by popular demand,” said Wick Hill marketing director Barry Mattacott.

Solutions on show
Sharing the stand with Wick Hill will be a host of vendors including WatchGuard Technologies, A10 Networks, VIPRE Business, Barracuda Networks, Check Point, LogLogic, Imation, OpenText and Kasperksy Lab.

Wick Hill will be showing a range of solutions including those from WatchGuard Technologies, such as the recently launched  XTM 33 security appliance for small businesses, four new virtual XTMv appliances for small, midsize and large-scale distributed environments, and XCS (eXtensible Content Security) Appliances, including a new XCSv virtualised version , for securing email/web data and preventing data loss.

On show from A10 Networks will be two new 64-bit models from the AX Series Application Delivery Controller family.  A10 provides high performance products that help organisations of all sizes accelerate, optimise and secure their applications.

Other solutions on show include those from Barracuda Networks (content security appliances, networking products that improve application delivery and network access, and server load balancing products);  Check Point (a range of solutions including Check Point security appliances, Check Point Security Gateway Software Blades and Check Point Virtualised Security Gateways); VIPRE Business (integrated anti-virus security solutions);  Imation (secure mobile data storage);  LogLogic (compliance and SIEM –Security Information and Event Management);  Open Text (connectivity solutions for secure file transfer); and Kaspersky Lab (industry leading protection from viruses and malicious code, including mobile phone security).

WatchGuard Technologies
WatchGuard is showcasing its new virtual solutions for the first time in the UK.  Being demonstrated are four new virtual XTMv appliances for small, midsize and large-scale distributed environments. They provide the same type of high security offered by WatchGuard XTM hardware appliances, including application control, reputation enabled defence, intrusion prevention, gateway anti-virus, WebBlocker and spamBlocker.

The WatchGuard XTMv series can manage traffic passing within the virtual infrastructure and across internal networks between virtual machines in the same cluster or on the same server. So XTM is well suited to implement security policies between applications, user communities or tenants.

WatchGuard is also showcasing its family of XCS (eXtensible Content Security) Appliances, including a new XCSv virtualised version, for securing email/web data and preventing data loss.

Four editions of XCSv will soon be available for small, midsize and large distributed environments, providing the same web content, DLP, email and messaging security offered by WatchGuard XCS hardware appliances. This includes advanced anti-spam and malware protection, zero-hour threat outbreak response and easy to use management and reporting features.

Other WatchGuard solutions being demonstrated  include the recently launched  XTM 33 security appliance for small businesses.  For 5-30 users, it provides state of the art network protection in an all-in-one small form factor security appliance. Despite its small size and diminutive price tag, the WatchGuard XTM 33 is packed full with the latest security features and advanced networking technologies, providing a no compromise, ultimate firewall, optimised for today’s threat landscape.
