Exterity becomes authorised reseller of SecureMedia solution
« Posted: September 07, 2012, 11:05:17 AM »

London, 7th September 2012: Exterity, the leading provider of enterprise IPTV communication solutions, today announces that it has been approved by Motorola Mobility to be an authorised reseller of its SecureMedia solution. Motorola’s SecureMedia Encryptonite ONETM solution integrates with Exterity’s AvediaPlayer Receiver range to guarantee that organisations can comply with regulations broadcasters put in place to protect and fully monetise their content when streamed across Local Area Networks (LANs). The integrated solution will be demonstrated at Exterity’s stand in the Connected World (14.110) at IBC in Amsterdam from 7-11th September 2012 as part of Exterity’s wider security portfolio.

Motorola SecureMedia’s Encryptonite ONE solution provides digital rights management (DRM) protection to meet the security requirements of leading broadcasters. Broadcasters can also verify exactly how many channels businesses have access to, protecting revenue streams. The integrated solution ensures content is limited to only authorised Exterity AvediaPlayer receivers, meaning companies can securely distribute live broadcast TV channels and video on demand across their local network.

“Broadcasters are increasingly being asked to deliver content into businesses and other organisational environments where the LAN is often the primary method of distributing content. To ensure the integrity of this content and proper monetisation of the service being provided, broadcasters are increasingly requiring the application of a network DRM solution,” said Colin Farquhar, CEO of Exterity. “We’re delighted to have been authorised as a Motorola Mobility channel partner as our integration with SecureMedia enables us to distribute video content securely across an Exterity IPTV system.”

CANAL+ in France is the latest broadcaster to approve an architecture that combines Exterity’s AvediaStream TVgateways and AvediaPlayer Receivers with Motorola’s SecureMedia Encryptonite ONETM solution for LAN distribution of premium live TV channels.
