Hamburg, 03. To make IT systems and digital infrastructure in Germany the safest worldwide, the German Federal government has expedited a draft bill on the enhancement of security of IT systems (IT Security Act). According to this draft bill, operators of critical infrastructure such as energy generation equipment will be obliged to maintain a minimum standard of IT security, and report severe IT security incidents to the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in the future.
