Cambridge, UK, 25th February 2015 – CCS (Cambridge Communication Systems), creator of the world’s first self-organising small cell microwave backhaul system for mobile networks, today announces that it has taken delivery of the first volume production of its award-winning backhaul solution from market-leading manufacturer MTI (Microelectronic Technology Inc.).

Established in 1983, MTI was the first company to specialise in the design and manufacture of RF and microwave communication products in Taiwan and has built a market-leading position in this area. MTI is headquartered in the Hsinchu Science Park, also known as the “Silicon Valley of Taiwan”, with additional manufacturing facilities located in China and R&D centers in California, US and Hilleroed, Denmark.

MTI manufactured the self-organising nodes at its facility in Wuxi, in the Jiangsu province of China. CCS nodes are small, robust and purposely designed for quick, discreet and easy installation on street furniture – in less than 15 minutes, without the need for radio planning or manual alignment. Each unit has a wide 270-degree field of view and only one unit is required per lamppost. With connection support for up to 16 other nodes in a unique multipoint-to-multipoint topology, CCS’ backhaul nodes provide increased resiliency and redundancy.

Commenting on the volume shipment, CEO and Co-Founder Steve Greaves said: “As a rapidly growing and innovative company, we’ve racked up many “firsts”, but taking delivery of our first volume production marks a very significant milestone for CCS as a commercial organisation. We are honoured to be partnering with acknowledged industry leaders MTI as we scale up implementation of our backhaul solution to our customers across the world.”

Mr. Allen Yen, President and CEO of MTI added: “MTI has a unmatched record of competence in RF and microwave product manufacture, and we were quick to recognise the major opportunity presented by the emerging small cells market. CCS is a young, dynamic company with a unique product set, and we are excited to be working together to help CCS meet expanding demand for its solution.”

About CCS:
Cambridge, UK-based CCS (Cambridge Communication Systems) is the pioneer of the world’s first self-organising small cell microwave backhaul system for mobile networks.

CCS offers mobile network operators the only system that meets all key requirements for high capacity and low latency, reliability, rapid deployment and low-cost operation in a small, low-impact design. Self-organising, self-healing links automatically reconfigure themselves to optimise performance across a resilient, multipoint-to-multipoint topology. Easy to scale, with no radio planning or re-alignment required as nodes are added, CCS’ self-organising microwave-based system delivers the lowest TCO for any small cell backhaul technology.

CCS’ system enables mobile operators to deploy small cells in a flexible, organic way as additional capacity is required, maintaining a quality of service that meets customer expectations.

About MTI (Microelectronic Technology Inc.):
Microelectronics Technology Inc. (MTI) is a technology company specialized in wireless communication product development, manufacturing and global sales for more than 30 years.
