Full range of RF over Fibre products will be showcased, with significant orders also coming from two US Government Agencies and other major companies all over the world

The latest in RF over fibre products will be among those exhibited by ETL Systems at SATELLITE 2015, following orders from Boeing & Inmarsat and major US Government agencies.

All ETL products are designed and manufactured by its award winning R&D team in the UK, with the team bringing more than 25 years of experience to the RF satellite signal distribution market.

Products in the company’s new StingRay series have already been used in a number of projects, along with more established ETL equipment. The latest contract wins which ETL representatives will be able to discuss at SATELLITE 2015 include:

A contract with Boeing & Inmarsat to supply a range of ETL’s RF systems to support Inmarsat’s GX services for high speed maritime and mobility communications
Supplying a major US Government agency with a customised Vulcan matrix system and Alto amplifier platform
A project with a second major US Government defence contractor to supply customised Vulcan Matrix system
A partnership with Solutions Broadcast RF (SBRF) to provide an outdoor StingRay chassis to create a reliable fibre system for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
CEO Ian Hilditch and Susan Saadat, Vice President of ETL’s North American Sales and Operations, will be among ETL representatives at the event to demonstrate the full range of ETL’s products and explain the benefits they can bring to teleports.

“The SATELLITE show is one of the biggest events of the year in the industry and it is certainly a highlight on our calendar,” said Ms Saadat. “We look forward to meeting with both existing and future customers to discuss their individual needs and help find a solution that is designed to fit their exact specifications. Our products are produced to the highest specification and we look forward to showing SATELLITE delegates what they can achieve with them.”

Visitors can find ETL at Booth 5095 in Hall 3 of the UK Pavilion.

Demonstrations at SATELLITE 2015

New! StingRay RF over fibre range
Building on ETL’s existing RF expertise, the new range provides a unique design for high isolation applications. The range incorporates single mode fibre links to transmit and receive RF signals with remote control and monitoring of temperature, fan status and power supply status via a web browser interface and SNMP. All chassis in the range are hot-swap with a range of fibre module options such as single or dual modules, 10MHz reference modules, and 13/18V LNB powering.

New! Dextra L-band splitters and combiners
ETL’s new Dextra series includes 4-way and 8-way splitters and combiners in both single and dual configurations and 16-way splitters and combiners, available as single units. The range offers consistently excellent RF performance, including high linearity and low noise figure, and outperforms some of the more expensive models available. Full remote control and monitoring via SNMP & web browser interface, with settable alarm thresholds. Flexible and configurable LNB power at the input ports of the splitters is also featured.

Vulcan Matrix/Router
The compact 16U high 128x128 Vulcan Matrix/Router offers large scale data gathering and is especially useful for large teleports and broadcast head-ends such as IPTV, and includes dual redundant, hot-swap PSU’s and CPU’s. The product upholds ETL’s reliable reputation through hot-swap components and continuous monitoring through self-diagnostics and can be supplied part populated and expanded in increments of 8 for future requirements. The system also includes redundant mid matrix paths and can be controlled both locally and remotely.

Vortex Matrix Router
The 64x64 Vortex Matrix Router is ideal for RF content acquisition for TVRO and IPTV head ends, large teleports, broadcast, and remote controlled, unmanned satcom sites. The 8U high, compact system is extremely reliable with its hot-swap components (PSU’s, CPU’s and matrix cards) and continuous monitoring facilities. It can be supplied part populated and expanded in increments of 16. Features include: variable gain to manage signal levels; built in resilience; self-diagnostics-continuous monitoring; and local and remote control.

Enigma Matrix/Router
The 32 x 32 Enigma Matrix Router is ideal for signal monitoring of satellite traffic, RF content acquisition for TVRO and IPTV head ends, and remote controlled, unmanned satcom sites. The system is extremely reliable benefiting from hot-swap components and continuous monitoring, and can be supplied part populated and expanded in increments of 1. Features include: compact 6U high shelf; dual redundant, hot-swap PSU’s and CPU’s; hot-swap matrix cards; single input and output cards; self-diagnostics-continuous monitoring; and local and remote control.

16 x 32 Valiant Matrix/Router
The 16 x 32 Valiant Matrix Router is ideal for satellite traffic for smaller applications like SNG or OB Trucks, RF content acquisition for smaller TVRO & IPTV head ends, RF distribution in larger cruise liners or luxury yachts, and remote controlled, unmanned satcom sites. The system provides reliability through hot-swap components and RF signal monitoring. Features include: compact 3U high shelf; IF – Extended L-band (50-2450MHz); LNB powering; RF Monitoring; dual redundant, hot-swap PSU’s; hot-swap CPU; hot-swap matrix cards; and local and remote control.

16 x 16 Victor Matrix/Router
The 16 x 16 Victor Matrix Router is ideal for satellite traffic for smaller applications, e.g. SNG or OB Trucks, RF content acquisition for smaller TVRO & IPTV head ends, RF distribution in larger cruise liners or luxury yachts, and remote controlled, unmanned satcom sites. The system gives the end-user peace of mind with dual redundant PSU’s and RF signal monitoring. Features include: compact 1U high shelf; IF – L-band (50-2150MHz); variable gain; LNB powering; RF Monitoring; dual redundant PSU’s; and local and remote control.

Alto Amplifiers
Model ALT-C201-2U & ALT-S-L1-002 Alto Amplifier
ETL’s Alto series range of L-band Amplifiers provides signal management flexibility within an RF chain. The Alto family includes 4, 8 and 16 module chassis options with variable gain and can be remotely controlled via Ethernet and web browser interface. The design of the amplifier is modular, allowing hot-swap of amplifiers and power supplies, and can be controlled locally and monitored via the front panel display with simplified push buttons. It is designed for the front end RF chain and provides amplification and slope compensation from cable loss for teleports and TVRO and head-ends.
