Here?s your chance to become Microsoft Student Partner! Microsoft India is organizing Student RockStar Contest for Students across India. If you are an engineering student (B.E, B.Tech and MCA) or any Technical Degree Student studying in India then you are eligible to join this contest. For an invitation just a reply on this post and we?ll send you an invite. .

All participants are ranked based on the points they earn by contributing and participating in quiz, registering for the contest, posting a thread, replying and getting response to the thread posted in the forum or by downloading whitepapers, products and other stuff.

Microsoft India has put up some criteria for earning points and once you earn a minimum level of required points you will automatically be rolled out to Top 500 members who will be benefited with this Student Partner Program.


Rewards and Opportunities:

Top 500 members in the contest (based on ranks) would be evaluated for being ?Student Partners? with Microsoft. Within these top 500 members:

    * Top 3 students would each get an X-Box 360
    * Next 10 students would each get a Windows phone
    * Next 50 would each get 2GB flash drives
    * About 1000 express CDs & 500 desktop calendars would also be given away

Deadline for entries are 15th June 2007. Students who register before 10th February 2007 will get additional 25 points as a bonus.

All Microsoft Student Partners will receive these goodies from Microsoft:

    * MSDN Premium Subscription
    * Vista (Business Edition)
    * Resource DVDs, Books, USB Sticks.
    * Official Microsoft Student Partner ID
    * Visiting cards, student partner t-shirts, caps and more?.

Overview of the Student Partner Program

You will be awarded Student Partner status for one academic year. During this time you can refer to yourself as a Microsoft Student Partner and act as an official representative of Microsoft at your university.

Being an MSP demands dedication. We encourage every MSP to undertake 4 activities and numerous voluntary activities throughout the year which are designed to suit everyone's level of ability and creativity. Activities range from setting up a Microsoft Campus Club in your College, Delivering technical lectures on campus, writing articles for the student newsletter to participating in the Imagine Cup.

We will recognize and reward each activity you undertake. The more you do, the more chances you'll have of wining one of our fantastic end-of-year prizes.


What is the Contest all about?

The contest is about learning, sharing knowledge, participating in competitions, projects, events, and quizzes, and more. For these activities you also earn points. Based on your points, you get a rank in the contest. Your rank at the end of the contest will decide your rewards and opportunities.


Not only this, but top Student Partners also get the opportunity to be interviewed at the Microsoft.

Who can apply?

In order to be eligible for the award, you must be:

    * Over 18
    * An undergraduate or post-graduate student at an AICTE Approved University / College
    * Studying a full-time course at the University / College and get a refferal from a faculty member
    * Passionate about technology and willing to share your expertise with other students in your college and outside as well.

I would like to be in this contest too. But first. Is Microsoft itself doing this contest? And second who will be paying for the prizes that you are offering? Does the winner have to pay anything to get these prizes or just enter the contest and hope to win? When will the contest start and what will be in it? I am from USA. Thanks.
